Holy Trinity Greek Church, Brașov

The Greek Church of the Holy Trinity stands on Gheorghe Barițiu Street in Brașov’s fortified old centre. Completed in 1787, it was funded by Orthodox merchants and craftsmen from several communities. Its Baroque façade and courtyard reveal a quieter side of the historic town. The site reflects the heritage of Brașov’s historic Orthodox communities.

More about this place

In 1859, the painter Guliemievici decorated the interior and gilded the iconostasis. Floral motifs in the painting complement plant and flower reliefs on the baroque façade, connecting the church’s interior and exterior decoration.
