Etar Open-Air Ethnographic Museum near Gabrovo presents everyday life and crafts during the Bulgarian National Revival. Workshops and water-powered installations stand among traditional buildings. The craft street connects architecture, local history and practical skills, showing the role of water in the working life of the region.
Opened in 1964 on Lazar Donkov’s initiative, the museum demonstrates how water powered local livelihoods. Mills, fulling equipment and woodworking machinery illustrate the relationship between mountain streams and Central Balkan craft production.
