Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1
Departure from Sofia, Serdika Bus Station, at 06:00 in the morning towards Edessa in northern Greece, famous for its picturesque waterfalls and ancient history.
Boarding in Pernik at the Lukoil petrol station (Ladovitsa district) is possible with at least 10 people registered.
Optional transfer from Plovdiv, Pazardzhik and Botevgrad.
The journey takes you through the beautiful mountain landscapes of the Balkans, gradually unfolding before your eyes.
Arrival in Edessa and a visit to the waterfalls of the Voda River, one of Greece’s most impressive natural phenomena. These waterfalls formed in the 14th century after a powerful earthquake cracked the rocks, allowing the waters of a lake in the western part of the city to pour through the fissures. The waterfalls cascade down the city’s steep slopes, creating a breathtaking sight. One of the most impressive is Karanos, Greece’s highest waterfall, reaching a remarkable 70 metres. Named after the mythical first king of Macedonia, it symbolises the grandeur of nature and the region’s ancient history.
After a photo stop and the opportunity to capture the magic of the waterfalls, you can visit the unique Water Museum nearby. The museum offers an interesting insight into the importance of water to the region and how nature and people have coexisted in harmony over the centuries.
We then take a walk through Edessa’s beautiful parks, where numerous water channels and aqueducts create a distinctive atmosphere. You will have free time to enjoy the local atmosphere and have lunch at one of the traditional Greek eateries.
Hotel check-in. Overnight stay.
Day 2:
Breakfast. Departure for the spa resort of Loutraki, a stunningly beautiful place at the foot of Kaimaktsalan, renowned for its healing hot springs.
The therapeutic waters from six mineral springs of different temperatures meet to form a natural river with impressive waterfalls. One half of the river has cold water, while the other maintains a pleasant temperature of 37°C — a true natural phenomenon surrounded by greenery. The place is known as the “Gardens of Paradise”, and the river’s healing waters are considered blessed.
Visitors can enjoy bathing around the clock, either in the outdoor pools in the riverbed itself or in the indoor pools of a purpose-built spa centre.
In the afternoon, departure for Bulgaria. Arrival at Serdika Bus Station at approximately 22:00.
