Orthodox Dormition Cathedral, Brașov

The Orthodox Church of the Dormition stands on Council Square in Brașov and is commonly known as the Orthodox cathedral. The present church was consecrated in 1899 and has neo-Byzantine architecture. Its position behind the square’s frontage distinguishes it from more exposed city landmarks. It should not be confused with the older church of the same dedication in Brașovul Vechi.
