Peleș Castle

Peleș Castle is King Carol I’s former summer residence, set among the forests above Sinaia. Construction began in 1873, the palace was inaugurated in 1883, and extensions continued until 1914. Its architecture combines Neo-Renaissance forms, decorative timber framing and elaborate terraces. Art collections, furniture and finely carved woodwork tell the story of Romania’s monarchy.
